MicroGen systems, Inc. is developing a suite of products based on its proprietary piezoelectric vibrational energy harvester (PZEH) technology. These low cost, long lifetime (>20 years) Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) are micro-power sources that extend rechargeable battery lifetime or will eliminate the need for batteries altogether.
MicroGen is located and develops products in Ithaca, NY at the Cornell Nanoscale Science and Technology Facility. A spinout of the University of Vermont, MicroGen is led by a strong international management team with industry and start up experience. The following organizations have provided significant funding, support and guidance to the company: NYSERDA; the Clean Tech Center; CenterState CEO; The Energy Materials Center at Cornell; and the University of Vermont Seed Fund.
